City Miracles

In late 1999 the Lord gave Ed Silvoso a vision of the future that was exceedingly, abundantly above what we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). He called me and told me that the city of Elk River, Minnesota would become a detonator city. We had never heard a city referred to as a detonator city before, but we knew that a detonator is a small explosion that sets off a larger explosion. Isaiah 60:22 (NIV) expresses a similar idea that the smallest [will become] a mighty nation.

The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."

In February, 2004, the book entitled The Elk River Story was published. This book contained the testimonies of pastors, intercessors, business leaders and even the mayor of Elk River, Minnesota. Several years later the Lord drew our attention to Habakkuk 2:2, which reflects what we did by publishing this book,
 
"Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

At the time the book was published we had no way of knowing that The Elk River Story would sell thousands of copies and influence many other cities to follow the example of prayer evangelism established in Elk River.  Many other people have grasped the vision and are running with it. No, we are not just transforming the city of Elk River, we are transforming the USA. A small one is becoming a mighty nation.

Prayer Power
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you will release wisdom and revelation knowledge into the lives of each person reading this devotional. I pray that many more copies of The Elk River Story will end up in the hands of strategic people all over the nation. Allow them to see the plan that you have for each individual city involved, and also a plan that you have to transform the entire nation. This is a vision that is exceedingly abundantly above what that can ask or think. I ask you to have each one write the vision that you have released to them so that they can share the vision with others around them. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
