City Miracles: Raleigh, North Carolina (Pastors) Raleigh, North Carolina Pastor Bill Morgan leads a group of pastors who have committed to pray together each week. Often times, when they pray these pastors lie prostrate on the floor. But they have not just committed to pray together, they have committed to transform their city together. They truly understand the idea that there is only one church in Raleigh, and that the pastor of that church is the Lord Jesus Christ. That means that all of the congregational leaders in the city are under shepherds to the Chief Shepherd-Jesus! Now they see themselves as being on the same team working for the same boss. The objective has shifted from growing "my church" to transforming the city. Now that the objective is the city, the focus becomes increasing the number of people in the city who are going to spend eternity together with the Lord Jesus Christ. The pastors have become teammates rather than competitors. Look at Jeremiah 29:7 and see how Scripture points toward praying for the city, And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace. |
